A fun afternoon of curling has been scheduled for March 16, 2019 starting at 1:00 for those who want some on ice instruction and 1:30 for those individuals who either have some experience or feel they don’t need it. The 1/2 hour will include some basic explanation or scoring, the types of turns, basic sweeping skills and rock delivery.
It will be followed up by a couple of hours of round robin games and food and drink following, if you so choose. It will cost $15.00 per person and if you need equipment (slider, broom, and/or gripper, there will be an additional charge of $3.00 per piece per person).
The sooner you commit, the better. There will be a maximum number of 30 people (unless you are just coming for the social event or as a spectator then just let us know so we can let the venue know what to expect). Please advise if you want to be included in the instruction part of the event and/or how experienced a curler you are. This will ensure that we have enough instructors and to make proper teams and scheduling. If you played once in high school you are not experienced 🙂
Children under the age of 11 are not allowed on the ice but with your own proper supervision, there are viewing areas on both the main and second floors that they could play in. There is a restaurant and bar food and beverages.
